This section labelled your choices means just that. All too often the customer is not made aware of all the options. You the customer can sometimes be in a position that some companies try to exploit.
 
Scenario;
 
You have just bought a new car and asked a company for a quote for a towbar. That company has told you you must have a dedicated wiring kit.
 
This is not always true however there is always a minimum wiring requirement which is vehicle dependant. For instance some vehicles have bulb failure systems so connecting directly to these can damage your vehicles complex wiring.
Having bulb failure on your vehicle doesn't mean you must have a dedicated wiring kit that monitors the bulbs on the trailer. It also doesn't mean you have special wiring for trailer stability, after all you may only have a bike rack.

We will always give impartial advice on wiring systems as we know what works and what applications are best suited to particular wiring solutions.

Standard Wiring
 
This is the minimum wiring that should be fitted to keep you within the law and your vehicle safe. This differs from vehicle to vehicle but we know what needs fitting to which vehicles. With this kind of wiring you have other choices such as what kind of warning device you prefer and where you would like it.
 
This wiring carries a guarantee for as long as you keep your car, that is how confident we are.
 
Dedicated Wiring Kits
 
This is often a very in depth wiring kit that communicates with your vehicle. Functions such as Trailer stability, bulb failure, parking aid cut off etc can be incorporated. Not all functions are available of each kit it is vehicle manufacturer dependant.
 
These wiring kits suite people that want full functionality that their vehicle can perform. Often vehicles brake differently when they know a trailer is coupled, this is to combat trailer snake and is common in VAG group cars.
 
Beware of getting quotes where coding is not included this could lead to an expensive trip to a dealer. We do not charge extra for coding it is always done even when seen by many as 'OPTIONAL'. Often them companies incapable of carrying out this work.
 
Some dedicated wiring kits sold as a factory option do not have full functionality. This is normally where no wiring is included to make a caravan fridge work.
 
Unfortunately we can only offer manufacturer warranty of 24 months on the majority wiring kits.
